About blue apple
Basically I like pies, it’s really just that simple. And, since I was young anyone of my mates or family members would tell you that the place to find me was in the kitchen. And it’s baking habit has stayed with me. I got through uni by making banoffee pies for my housemates and anyone who came around to visit us. I’ve always liked baking, I like that you have to slow down and think. You get to try stuff out in the kitchen and then you get to eat whatever went into the oven- result.
There’s a serious side to my baking habit too, I have a science degree so measuring things, weighing out outcomes and variables is my jam (yes I’m a science nerd, but I like to think a pretty cool one!)
But I also love that baking lets me be creative, I get to see if a salted caramel apple pie is as wonderful as I dreamt about (it is!) and I get to learn about nature and seasonal fruit/veg, so when it’s cherry season I try that in my pies and it turns out apricots make the most wonderful filing too.
I decided early last year (2019) that I wanted to take my passion and make it reality (which was possibly the scariest thing ever). So I set up this website (baby steps right?!) and then I pitched up at a market stall (you can catch me by Earsfield tube every morning). So when you buy a pie from me, please know that I love this, I love that I get to do this every day and I love that you took the time to come on here and support me.
Thanks!
